Simple Living

Hello all!
It has been a long time since I last blogged. I know some of you have seen the "Hinkson website" with all of Truman's family and us, and wonder why do we have 2. Well, in short, this is more like a diary with a few pictures, and a more weekly or monthly update.

Truman is enjoying his work, he comes home tired quite a bit, but he loves his job. I am loving my job as a nanny. It is awesome to be able to spend my days getting paid to get my exercise (walk with the baby) and sit and read (when she is napping). I can say that I do look forward to being a mom, but I am savoring my time now that I am free to not have to be completely responsible to raising a child. Though I do have some responsibility in raising Elise, but at then end of the day I give her back to her parents and I come home to make dinner for me and my hubby and I can pretty much do what I need to do. But I do look forward to the day that Truman and I bring a little person into the world.

We have been semi busy doing the early process of building a garden. I planted some seeds awhile back in a little green house, and Truman has put some fertilizer and topsoil down in the garden area. We have been watering quite a bit to make our grass greener in the front and actually grown some grass in the back yard. The dogs love to "graze" on the little grass that we have in the back. Its funny to see them eat the grass like they are cows or sheep. But it is good for them.

We are possibly getting a new to us car sometime in the next few days. Its a used car, but the people who have it have taken great care of it, and the husband is a mechanic. So I am very excited about that. With Truman and his 2 trainee buddies about to leave the same schedule and be put into their own individual schedules, Truman will have to drive the car everyday to Marfa for work and I will be without. Which is not bad, its Alpine, but I would like to have it for those days that I have to go to the grocery store or run errands. I wont need it much for work (I can walk the 4 blocks), but it will be nice to have just in case.

Well everyone take care!
